About Us:
Parry Sound Nation Swim Club is an exciting new swim team launching in the heart of Georgian Bay. With a brand-new aquatic facility scheduled to open in June 2026, we are building a community-rooted club focused on athlete development, team spirit, and competitive excellence. As a club in development, we are looking for a Head Coach who is passionate, visionary, and ready to help shape the future of swimming in Parry Sound.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Head Coach to lead our team from its formative stages through to full competition readiness. This unique opportunity allows you to be part of a ground-floor initiativeΓÇöguiding program development, athlete recruitment, and swim culture from day one.
This is a leadership role that requires strong technical knowledge of the sport, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performance swim environment.
Key Responsibilities:
ΓÇó Lead the planning and implementation of all swim programs from learn-to-swim to competitive levels
ΓÇó Design seasonal training plans in line with Swimming CanadaΓÇÖs LTAD model
ΓÇó Recruit, coach, and mentor swimmers across all levels
ΓÇó Develop and manage tryouts and club onboarding ahead of pool opening
ΓÇó Build a coaching staff team as the club grows
ΓÇó Collaborate with the Board of Directors and Swim Ontario to develop club structure and policies
ΓÇó Attend and oversee swim meets, competitions, and training camps
ΓÇó Support swimmer development both athletically and personally
ΓÇó Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and community partners
ΓÇó Promote the club within the community to attract members and sponsorships
Qualifications:
ΓÇó Minimum of NCCP Swimming Level 1 Trained or Certified (in development acceptable with plan to complete)
ΓÇó Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard and Standard First Aid/CPR-C certifications (or willingness to obtain)
ΓÇó Strong knowledge of competitive swimming techniques and training methodologies
ΓÇó Previous coaching experience with age group or senior swimmers
ΓÇó Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, board members, and parents
ΓÇó Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
ΓÇó A passion for youth development and community sport
ΓÇó Police Vulnerable Sector Check required prior to start
