The CSCTA is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Anderson (Calgary, AB) and Lance Cansdale (Halifax, NS) as new Executive members of the Canadian Swimming Coaches & Teachers Association.

Anderson is the Assistant Head Coach with the University of Calgary Swim Club and was recently named to the coaching staff for the 2009 FISU World University Games this summer. Kevin also served as the Head Coach of the Trenton Dolphins swim club from 1994-2005. Anderson was previously a member of the CSCTA Executive from 2006-2008.

Cansdale is the Head Coach of the Halifax Trojans Swim Club and was recently appointed as the Provincial Coach for Nova Scotia. Cansdale was the Head Coach at the Hyack Swim Club, Vernon Kokanee Swim Club, Simon Fraser University and the University of California Bakersfield. He has also been a coach and manager for Team Canada at several international competitions and is a former Executive Director of Swim BC.

Following the approval of our By Law changes by the Membership during a Special General Meeting in Toronto, ON on March 13, 2009 the By Law's were accepted by Industry Canada increasing the number of Executive positions from five to seven plus the Past President. During the Special General Meeting a Motion was passed unanimously giving the current Executive permission to appoint members to temporarily fill the vacant spots until the AGM in November.

These appointment will take place immediately and both Executive positions will be up for Election in November 2009 at the CSCTA AGM taking place at the 2009 Canada Cup in Toronto.
