The Canadian Swimmming Coaches Association (CSCTA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Chris Hindmarch-Watson as the new Executive Director.

Chris, as many in the swimming community have known him, brings over 15 years of comprehensive experience as program director, general manager, event manager and announcer in the sport of swimming to the CSCTA. Chris cut his management and director teeth at Swim BC as Assistant Program Director from 1998-2002 and Program Director from 2002-2004. During this time period he also played a role on the pool deck at the University of Victoria where he was manager of the UVIC swim team from 2000-2003, as well as Vice President of the Varsity Athlete Council in 2003.

He continued to hone his management and leadership skills taking on the Event Manager role at Swimming Canada from 2005-2006 as well as being hired as Business Manager (2004-2006) and General Manager (2006-2008) of UBC Dolphins as well as playing key roles in the management and hosting of the 2006 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships and the 2008 CIS Swimming Championships.

We hear Chris’ passion for swimming, as well as many great stories about athlete and coach success on deck at major national and international competitions in Canada and around the world where he has become a highly respected event announcer. We are extremely excited to have Chris on board as the new ED of the CSCTA. His professionalism, leadership and many skill sets will be invaluable as CSCTA moves forwards in servicing its members in the 2008/09 season and beyond. Welcome aboard Chris!
