CSCTA To Provide Funding for Coaching Professional Development at Major International Events
VANCOUVER (May 30, 2010) – The Canadian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association (CSCTA) announced today that it would provide funding grants to five personal coaches of athletes selected to the Pan Pacific Championships team that will compete in Irvine next August, and three personal coaches to the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India.
The grants will be offered to coaches whose swimmers have qualified for the teams, but have not been selected to the coaching staff. Individual grants of $1,500 and $2,500 Canadian dollars will be allotted to coaches for the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships and 2010 Commonwealth Games respectively.
“We see great value in providing opportunities for coaches to further develop their skills as international level coaches,” said Bill Humby, President of the CSCTA.
“Having the ability to observe Canada’s top coaches working with international level athletes and providing some assistance during these important competitions will further educate our coaches.”
According to Humby, the CSCTA has been working in partnership with Swimming Canada in developing greater opportunities for coaching education at the National and International level.
Announcement of the grant recipients will be made following the official Swimming Canada team announcements for the Pan Pacific Championships at the end of July, and Commonwealth Games at the end of August.

ACEIN financera le développement professionel aux compétitions internationale
VANCOUVER (30 May, 2010) – L’Association Canadienne des Entraîneurs et Instructeurs de Natation (ACEIN) a annoncé aujourd’hui qu’elle financera la participation de cinq entraîneurs personnels aux Championats Pan Pacifique qui auront lieu à Irvine, en Californie à la mi-Août; et de trois entraîneurs personnels aux jeux du Commonwealth à Delhi, en Inde au mois d’Octobre.
Les bourses seront offertes aux entraîneurs qui ont des nageurs sur ces équipes mais qui n’ont pas été sélectionné au sein de ces mêmes équipes à titre d’entraîneurs. Des bourses de $1500 seront attribuées aux entraîneurs des Championnats Pan pacifique tandis que des bourses de $2500 dollars seront attribuées aux entraîneurs des jeux du Commonwealth.

Selon Bill Humby, l’ACEIN de partenariat avec Natation Canada veut offrir de meilleures opportunités d’éducation au niveau national et international pour les entraîneurs.
L’annonce des récipiendaires de ces bourse sera faite suivant l’annonce de la sélection des nageurs au sein de l’équipe des Championnats Pan Pacifique à la fin de Juillet et après l’annonce de la sélection des nageurs au sein de l’équipe des Jeux du Commonwealth à la fin d’Août.
