It is with regret that we, FNQ, announce Alain Lefebvre's departure, as technical director of the Quebec Swimming Federation to pursue other career opportunity.
He will leave us on September 21st to take up a new challenge as coordinator of excellence sports program, high performance, of theUniversity of Montréal.
For the past 12 years, Mr Lefebvre as meet several big challenges during his passage at the Quebec Swimming Federation and as lead in a masterly fashion his files of development and excellence.
He was a precursor in the application of the long term athlete development model in Quebec and Canada. He was considered as an expert by his pears and a speaker looked for in several national conventions of specialists of the domain.
A man of listening for all the excellence coaches, an adviser in the difficult moments for coaches and athletes: a big challenge for his successor.
The board of directors wishes that this change at the level of the technical direction does not affect the achievement of the objectives set up in the development plan of the sports practice of swimming in Quebec.
Temporary actions will be taken to have a continuity of services for our athletes, coaches and administrators.
Before filling the post, the board of directors will make a reflection concerning its staff structure to revise the long-term priorities of its permanent structure.
In the name of the Quebec Swimming Federation, board of directors and staff, I would like to offer to Mr. Lefebvre, the best of chances in his future career.
A man of principle, trust, family, a confidant that we will miss a lot.
We would like to thank Alain for his collaboration and the contribution that he carried out through the years that he passed with us. I am persuaded that you are joining me to wish him the best of chances in his new responsibilities.
