From Swimming Canada
Montreal - Pierre Lamy was named coach of the month for September 2008 and a recipient of ‘’La Médaille d’Or’’ by the National Coaching Institute and the Club de la Médaille d’Or. His hard work and dedication helped Canada to a superb performance in swimming at the Paralympic Games in Beijing.
Lamy is a coach at the Club Aquatique de Montreal (CAMO) where he coaches the senior level and Paralympic swimmers. Among his pupils is Valérie Grand’Maison who made a big contribution to Canada’s 23-medal production in swimming at the Paralympics. She won six individual medals and also broke two world records.

In addition to his duties at CAMO, Lamy has fulfilled many other functions for swimming at the provincial and national levels. This includes coaching Team Quebec at the Canada Games and Team Canada at the youth championships in Australia. He is a level 4 NCCP certified coach and holds an NCI diploma.
