Swim Alberta is pleased to announce that Sureen Gosal will assume the new position of Director, Club Development onSeptember 1, 2014.
Gosal’s career spans over 15 years with extensive background in athlete, board, club, coach and volunteer development. His recent role as General Manager for two of the largest swimming operations in Canada – University of Calgary Swim Club and Island Swimming provide the experience and knowledge to work effectively with clubs across the province.
Reporting to Cheryl Humphrey, Executive Director of Swim Alberta, Gosal will play a key role in developing and implementing programs and resources for Alberta Swim Clubs to further enhance their capacity around organizational/club excellence.
“For swimmers and coaches to be able to have the greatest impact and maximize their potential, they need the support of a solid and effective club structure that provides a supportive framework to allow them to achieve success,” says Humphrey. “Clubs are the foundation that allow our athletes to develop from fundamentals to excellence. Gosal’s experience and knowledge will provide the direction and resources for our clubs to further enhance their operations and provide excellence in their programs and services.”
“I am looking forward to working extensively with Clubs in Alberta to assist them in providing the framework and resources they need to support our athletes, coaches, and volunteers,” states Gosal.
Gosal will be based out of Calgary and will work with clubs, coaches and volunteers across the province.
